Forest Jig by Ellie Curtis, screen printed in the UK on an oyster linen union. A three colour woodland design in coral, chalk white and dark brown laid over a soft olive taupe ground: swagged bands of leaves, stylised trees, curling fronds and foliage that keeps showing you something else the longer you look at it.
It is screen printed rather than digital, so the colours sit as flat hand cut shapes with the linen showing through between them, and that is what gives the design its graphic punch.
Piped in a black and white ticking and backed in a plain canvas in brick. The ticking is the detail that stops the print from looking too pretty.
60 x 60cm square, which is generous, and the right size for the scale of this design. Corners are tapered, fabric edges are overlocked and there is an invisible zip along the bottom edge. Handmade in my Devon workroom, available with or without a pad.
Only a small number of covers were cut from this length of fabric, so once they have gone they will not be repeated.
The same fabric is also made up as a 35 x 65cm oblong. The two together on a deep sofa is the best way to use it, and on a plain linen or a dark sofa the coral does the rest.
Care Instructions
The irregularities and shade variations are characteristic of the fabric. Exact colour matching to previous orders cannot be guaranteed. Dry cleaning recommended.
A black and white stripe by Nobilis, piped in a plain canvas brick, which is the detail that makes it. A warm red brown against a monochrome stripe stops the whole thing looking like a deckchair.

Cut from a limited length of fabric, so very few are made. There are other sizes and designs in this collection that mix and match with it.
Black and white is the most useful pattern in a room because it behaves like a neutral while still being a pattern. This one will sit with almost anything, which is not something I say often.
Care: dry clean recommended. Due to the handcrafted nature of the fabric, slight irregularities and shade variations are characteristic and not considered faults. Exact colour matching to previous orders cannot be guaranteed.
