Forest Jig by Ellie Curtis, screen printed in the UK on an oyster linen union. A three colour woodland design in coral, chalk white and dark brown laid over a soft olive taupe ground: swagged bands of leaves, stylised trees, curling fronds and foliage that keeps showing you something else the longer you look at it.
It is screen printed rather than digital, so the colours sit as flat hand cut shapes with the linen showing through between them, and that is what gives the design its graphic punch.
Piped in a black and white ticking and backed in a plain canvas in brick. The ticking is the detail that stops the print from looking too pretty.
35 x 65cm oblong. The long shape cuts a horizontal band through the design, so you read the swags rather than the whole repeat, and it is the shape that actually supports your back. Corners are tapered, fabric edges are overlocked and there is an invisible zip along the bottom edge. Handmade in my Devon workroom, available with or without a bespoke feather pad.
Only a small number of covers were cut from this length of fabric, so once they have gone they will not be repeated.
The same fabric is also made up as a 60 x 60cm square, and the two work well together on a deep sofa.

The irregularities and shade variations are characteristic of the fabric. Exact colour matching to previous orders cannot be guaranteed. Dry cleaning recommended.
