Kuba is inspired by the patchwork cloths of the Kuba people of the Congo. Different small geometric prints, all hand block printed in black on ivory linen, are stitched together in vertical panels, so stripes, zigzags and little grids sit side by side. The block printing gives the black a slightly uneven, hand-made edge.
It's a strong black and white cushion that still feels soft. I'd use it with plain black, ivory or natural linen, or to give a green or ochre scheme some definition. The other photos show it with other William Yeoward cushions.
