Black is a true, soft black. The pale blanket stitch stands out sharply against it and gives it a graphic edge.

Arthur's Seat is Maison Casamance's recycled wool cushion. The soft, plain wool has a lovely warm handle, is the same colour front and back, and is finished with a contrasting blanket stitch around the edge and an invisible zip.

Striking on a white or stone sofa. Keep the rest of the scheme simple and let the stitching do the work.
