Burmese in aqua by Anna French. A scalloped ogee embroidered in cream onto a soft aqua linen, each arc built from small dotted stitches rather than a solid line, so the pattern reads as though it were drawn with a fine pen. It is 100% linen, and the slightly irregular slubby ground is exactly what embroidery sits well against.
Self piped, which keeps the cushion quiet and lets the embroidery be the only detail.
Available as a 45 x 45cm square and a 60 x 40cm rectangle. Corners are tapered, fabric edges are overlocked and there is an invisible zip along the bottom edge. Handmade in my Devon workroom, available with or without a feather pad.
Only a small number of covers were cut from this length of fabric, so once they have gone they will not be repeated.
Aqua is a gentler way into blue than navy or teal. It sits particularly well with natural linen, rattan and painted wood, and on a long sofa a pair of these is better than one.
Care: dry clean recommended. Due to the handcrafted nature of the fabric, slight irregularities and shade variations are characteristic and not considered faults. Exact colour matching to previous orders cannot be guaranteed.
