Reef is a cut velvet from Kai, part of the Maui collection, where a coral like design is cut into the pile so the pattern is felt as much as seen. Canary is a soft butter yellow, warmer and far less acidic than the name suggests. The companion boucle plain shares the same woven ground, which is why the two sit together so easily.
The 55 x 55cm square is Reef Canary on both sides, piped in taupe. The 30 x 40cm rectangle has the Reef front with a plain black back. Both are handmade in my Devon workroom with tapered corners, overlocked edges and an invisible zip along the bottom edge.
Cut from a limited length of fabric, so very few are made.
A cut velvet earns its place in a room full of flat surfaces. This one is soft enough in colour to sit on a neutral sofa without turning the whole thing yellow.
Care: dry clean recommended. Due to the handcrafted nature of the fabric, slight irregularities and shade variations are characteristic and not considered faults. Exact colour matching to previous orders cannot be guaranteed.
