Squirrel and Sunflower began as a linocut by the printmaker Mark Hearld, printed onto linen union so it keeps the flat blocks of colour and the cut edges of the original block. This is the olive green colourway, softer and more countrified than the aubergine, backed in a plain mustard that lifts the sunflower out of the print.
40 x 60cm, handmade in my Devon workroom with tapered corners, overlocked edges and an invisible zip along the bottom edge.
Very few of these, and when the fabric has gone I cannot make more.
A large rectangle in a busy print wants space around it. It is happiest on a plain sofa or in an armchair, with nothing else patterned nearby.
Composition: linen union.
Care: dry clean recommended. Due to the handcrafted nature of the fabric, slight irregularities and shade variations are characteristic and not considered faults. Exact colour matching to previous orders cannot be guaranteed.
