Marmolada in lapis. A chunky boucle, all loops and knots, in a deep lapis blue shot through with white, so it looks flecked from across a room and like a good tweed coat once you are next to it. This is a statement weave rather than a background one, and it has the weight to go with it.
Piped and backed in Azuri in gunmetal and cirrus, which keeps the blues layered rather than matched.
40 x 50cm rectangle. Corners are tapered, fabric edges are overlocked and there is an invisible zip along the bottom edge. Handmade in my Devon workroom, available with or without a feather pad.
Only a small number of covers were cut from this length of fabric, so once they have gone they will not be repeated.
Boucle is one of the few textures that reads as luxurious with no pattern at all. On a pale sofa the navy does the work, and it is worth putting something smooth beside it, a velvet or a plain linen, so the texture has something to play against.
