Alcyon comes from the Villa Kerylos collection by Nobilis, a homage to ancient weaving in which print and embroidery on natural silk are set against jacquard and soft patina. In ocre the ground is a warm golden yellow, a difficult colour to get right and very good when it is.
30 x 60cm, handmade in my Devon workroom with tapered corners, overlocked edges and an invisible zip along the bottom edge.
Cut from a short length of fabric, so there are very few of these.
Ochre will carry a neutral room on its own. It is happiest against grey linen, dark green or plain oatmeal, and it does not need another pattern near it.
Composition: 100% silk, with embroidery in 75% viscose and 25% polyester.
Care: dry clean recommended. Due to the handcrafted nature of the fabric, slight irregularities and shade variations are characteristic and not considered faults. Exact colour matching to previous orders cannot be guaranteed.
