Fog is a pale, warm grey, closer to putty or oyster than to anything cold. On cotton velvet a pale colour picks up a soft sheen, so the cushion looks almost silvery where the light catches it and a shade darker in the folds. The Iris piping in Doe is a touch warmer than the velvet and just outlines the edge.
It's the quietest of the three Ritz colours, and the one I'd reach for when the other cushions carry the pattern. In the photographs it leans against Swing in Tobacco and Waltz in Slate, and it's the plain that lets both of them show. Good on a stone, oatmeal or pale grey sofa, and just as happy on a white bed.
